It is time to replace Engine 72.
The engine is 20 year old Pierce/Freightliner with a 1000 Gallon Water Tank, 30 Gallon Class “A” Foam Tank, and a 1500GPM Hale Pump.
As you can see the cabin can only carry two firefighter which is a sever limitation considering the driver becomes the pump operator and that leaves one other firefighter during the response.
Upgrading to the 2020 KME truck will provide XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX as well as seating for 5 responders, which will improve response times and the effectiveness of the Brecknock Township Fire Company.
A contract has been signed with KME to build the new engine and we will finance a portion of the $630,000.00 cost of the truck. There will also be ancillary items needed to outfit the truck completely like radios, medical kits, and more.
We are asking our community to help us raise $63,000.00 towards the cost of the new engine. Will you join us?
